NCT ID NCT07323381
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 27, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at how two common diabetes medications, henagliflozin and metformin, affect body composition—especially muscle mass—in older adults newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. About 116 people aged 60 to 85 will take one of the two drugs daily for 24 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in muscle index, blood sugar control, and safety to see which treatment may be better for preserving muscle in seniors.
