This study looks at how well red blood cells carry oxygen after being processed from a patient's own lost blood during surgery, compared with standard donor blood transfusions. Researchers want to see if the patient's own blood, collected and cleaned by a machine called a cell saver, delivers oxygen more efficiently than stored donor blood.
