Scientists search for clues in rare, deadly immune disorder

NCT ID NCT02113917

Summary

This study aimed to better understand hemophagocytic syndrome in adults, a rare and often fatal condition where the immune system attacks the body. Researchers collected medical information and samples from 204 patients to identify specific disease features and see if genetic immune defects found in children also occur in adults. The goal was to improve diagnosis and group patients for future research, not to test a new treatment.
