Scientists zap heels to unlock secrets of walking
NCT ID NCT07439705
Summary
This study aimed to understand how nerves in the skin of the heel affect the strength of foot muscles used for pushing off the ground. Researchers measured the foot muscle strength of 29 healthy volunteers while gently stimulating the nerves in their heels with a mild electrical current. The goal was to gather basic knowledge that could help future studies on walking, running, and muscle control in people with certain nerve conditions.
