Gentle touch vs. gadgets: finding the best way to soothe babies during painful tests

NCT ID NCT07348731

Summary

This study aims to find the best non-drug method to reduce pain and stress in newborns during a common heel prick blood test. Researchers will compare a warm foot bath, a pressure device called ShotBlocker, and a vibrating/cooling gadget called Buzzy. They will measure the babies' pain levels, heart rate, breathing, and oxygen levels to see which method works best.
