Life support during surgery: new trial aims to protect most vulnerable heart patients

Summary
This study is testing a special heart-lung support machine used *before* a minimally invasive heart valve replacement in patients who are very unstable or have complex heart anatomy. The goal is to see if having this support ready in advance reduces the risk of death, cardiac arrest, or emergency surgery during the procedure. Researchers will enroll about 30 high-risk adult patients to measure both the effectiveness and safety of this approach.
