New heart valve fix aims to cut deaths and hospital stays

NCT ID NCT04634266

Summary

This trial is testing if a minimally invasive procedure to repair a severely leaking heart valve (tricuspid valve) is better than medication alone for people with heart failure. About 360 patients who are too high-risk for open-heart surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the new procedure plus medication or just medication. The main goal is to see if the procedure reduces the risk of death or hospitalization for heart failure over at least one year.
