New heart valve fix tested for Tough-to-Treat leak
NCT ID NCT07414225
Summary
This study is testing a minimally invasive heart valve repair procedure for people with a specific type of leaky mitral valve caused by heart rhythm problems or heart failure. 400 participants who still have symptoms despite taking the best available medications will be randomly assigned to either get the new procedure or continue with medication management. The main goal is to see if the procedure is safe and better at preventing death or hospital visits for worsening heart failure over two years.
