Breakthrough device could save more lives by extending the 'Shelf Life' of donor hearts
NCT ID NCT06035991
Summary
This trial is testing a new machine that keeps donor hearts alive and healthy outside the body for much longer than currently possible. The goal is to safely transport hearts from distant locations, like the French Caribbean islands, to patients in France who have no other chance for a transplant. If successful, this technology could significantly increase the number of life-saving heart transplants available.
