Heart transplant ratings: does 'Cherrypicking' donor hearts fool patients?
NCT ID NCT04133831
First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026
Summary
This study looked at how people decide which heart transplant hospital is better when shown different data. Over 1,000 adults in the U.S. were asked to choose between a hospital that accepts almost all donor hearts and one that only takes the best ones. The goal was to see if showing how often a hospital rejects donor hearts changes people's opinions. No treatment was given—this was purely about understanding decision-making.
