New monitor tested to make heart surgery safer

NCT ID NCT06822361

Summary

This study tested whether a less invasive heart monitor works as well as the current standard method during beating-heart bypass surgery. Researchers compared a wrist sensor that analyzes blood pressure waves against an ultrasound probe placed down the throat. The goal was to see if the simpler wrist monitor could accurately guide doctors on giving patients the right amount of fluids during surgery.
