New heart surgery treatment aims to curb dangerous bleeding
NCT ID NCT04244981
Summary
This study is testing if a concentrated clotting factor treatment (PCC) works as well as standard plasma (FFP) to control bleeding in patients having heart surgery. About 820 patients will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two treatments during their operation. The main goal is to see if the new treatment reduces blood loss in the first 24 hours after surgery just as effectively as the standard treatment.
