New filtering method tested to stop heart surgery bleeding
NCT ID NCT04031144
Summary
This study tested if a special blood-filtering technique, used just before finishing heart surgery, helps improve the blood's ability to clot and reduces bleeding problems. It involved 39 adults having elective heart valve surgery who showed signs of poor blood clotting during their operation. Researchers measured specific markers of blood clotting before and after using the filter to see if it made a difference.
