New heart scan could spot problems earlier in vulnerable newborns
NCT ID NCT07364682
Summary
This study aims to test whether an advanced heart scan technique called speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) can help doctors better understand heart function in newborns. Researchers will perform these painless scans on both healthy babies and babies with specific medical conditions to establish normal values and track changes during illness. The goal is to see if this method can detect subtle heart problems earlier than standard scans, potentially helping guide treatment decisions.
