Heart scan could be key to getting patients off ventilators safely
NCT ID NCT07075926
Summary
This study aims to find out if a bedside heart ultrasound can help doctors predict which intensive care patients can be safely taken off a mechanical ventilator. Researchers will scan the hearts of 50 adult patients who are ready to try breathing on their own. They will check if specific heart measurements can forecast whether a patient will succeed or fail when the breathing tube is removed.
