Scientists hunt clues to why blood cancer patients face higher heart risks

NCT ID NCT06692894

Summary

This study aims to understand why people with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), a type of blood cancer, have a higher risk of heart problems like heart disease and stroke. Researchers will follow 30 adult MDS patients for 6 months, collecting small blood samples to measure inflammation markers. The goal is to identify proteins that might help predict cardiovascular risks in this patient group, potentially leading to better monitoring and management strategies.
