Heart test after surgery could prevent dangerous rhythm from coming back

NCT ID NCT06669299

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to prevent a dangerous, fast heart rhythm (ventricular tachycardia) from returning after a corrective procedure called ablation. Researchers will use a simple follow-up test a few days after the first procedure to check if the heart rhythm is still unstable. If it is, patients will be randomly assigned to either have a second ablation procedure or take medication, to see which approach is more effective at keeping the rhythm problem from recurring.
