Summary

This study is testing the safety of a new, very small heart pump called the Impella ECP. It is designed to help support a patient's blood pressure and heart function during a high-risk procedure to open blocked heart arteries. The research involves 100 adults who need this type of procedure to see if the pump can be placed and work safely without causing major problems.
