New strategy aims to protect hearts damaged during surgery
NCT ID NCT06768034
Summary
This pilot study is testing whether referring patients who suffer heart injury after non-heart surgery to a specialist for preventive care can reduce future major heart events. The study will enroll 100 patients and randomly assign them to either receive this specialized referral or usual care. The main goal is to gather data on how feasible this approach is, including how many patients can be recruited and how well they follow the referral, to plan a larger future trial.
