New device aims to suck deadly heart clots from patients
NCT ID NCT07282002
Summary
This study is testing a device called the AngioVac System to see if it can safely and effectively remove dangerous clumps of infection (vegetations) from the right side of the heart in people with infective endocarditis. It will involve about 30 adult patients who have this specific type of heart infection. The main goals are to see if the procedure helps patients survive, clears the infection, and avoids the need for further heart surgery within 30 days.
