Could one blood thinner be enough after a heart attack for AF patients?

NCT ID NCT07583784

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether people with atrial fibrillation (AF) who have a heart attack and get a stent can safely take just one blood thinner (DOAC) instead of two. About 860 adults will be randomly assigned to either DOAC alone or DOAC plus clopidogrel. The goal is to see if the simpler approach reduces bleeding risks without increasing the chance of another heart attack or stroke.
