Tiny implant could give doctors a window into failing hearts

NCT ID NCT03375710

Summary

This study tested a small, wireless sensor that is implanted in the lung artery to monitor pressure for people with moderate heart failure. The goal was to see if the sensor was safe to implant and if its pressure readings were accurate compared to standard hospital tests. Researchers followed 15 patients for two years to check for safety issues and see if the sensor helped track their condition from home.
