Emergency room study tests best way to remove fluid from lungs
NCT ID NCT07464249
Summary
This study tested which method works better for quickly removing excess fluid in people who come to the emergency room with sudden, severe heart failure: giving a water pill as a single shot (bolus) or as a slow drip (infusion). 50 patients were randomly assigned to one of the two methods, and neither they nor their doctors knew which one they received. The main goal was to see which method produced more urine in the first few hours, which shows how well fluid is being removed from the body.
