New blood test could spot heart failure risk in kids after surgery

NCT ID NCT07029230

Summary

This study is testing whether a new blood marker called sST2 can help predict which children might develop heart failure after congenital heart surgery. Researchers will follow 225 children under 18, measuring sST2 levels during surgery and up to a year afterward. They want to see if this marker is more reliable than current tests at identifying children who need closer monitoring.
