NCT ID NCT06780215

Summary

This study tested if varenicline, a medication used to help people quit smoking, could safely reduce frequent extra heartbeats in people who had previously suffered a heart attack. 116 participants were randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo for six weeks, while all continued their standard heart medication. The main goal was to see if the drug could lower the number of extra heartbeats and improve patients' quality of life.
