Heart attack drug trial tests new way to cool artery inflammation

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called dapagliflozin, usually used for diabetes, can reduce harmful inflammation in the heart arteries of people who have recently had a heart attack. The 110 participants do not have diabetes or heart failure. Researchers will use special heart CT scans to measure inflammation in the fat around the arteries before and after 6 months of taking the drug alongside standard care.
