Scientists probe hidden layer in heart disease recovery
NCT ID NCT07451873
Summary
This study aims to understand how a protective layer lining blood vessels, called the glycocalyx, changes in people with coronary heart disease before and after bypass surgery. Researchers will observe 35 patients undergoing elective bypass grafting, measuring this layer and related blood markers. The goal is to gather knowledge about the disease process and identify potential new markers, not to test a new treatment.
