Can aggressive cholesterol control stop heart disease before it starts?
NCT ID NCT05462262
Summary
This study is testing whether more intensive cholesterol-lowering treatment can slow the progression of early artery plaque and reduce heart attacks and strokes in adults at moderate risk. It involves 2,900 participants aged 40-75 who have early plaque buildup detected by a heart scan. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either standard or more aggressive cholesterol-lowering therapy to compare long-term heart health outcomes.
