New heart device could offer lifeline for Stroke-Prone patients

NCT ID NCT05565599

Summary

This early study is testing a small heart implant called the Laminar device. It aims to prevent strokes in people with a common heart rhythm problem (atrial fibrillation) who cannot safely take long-term blood thinners. Doctors will implant the device to seal off a small pouch in the heart where dangerous clots often form, and participants will be followed for five years to check safety and effectiveness.
