Heart plug tested to stop strokes in atrial fibrillation patients

NCT ID NCT06189365

Summary

This study tested a small heart implant called the Amulet device in Chinese patients with atrial fibrillation (a common irregular heartbeat) who cannot take standard blood-thinning medications. The device is designed to seal off a small pouch in the heart where dangerous blood clots often form, aiming to reduce the risk of stroke. Researchers followed 50 patients for two years to check if the implant was safe and effective at preventing strokes.
