New 'Balloon-Only' heart attack treatment could free young patients from lifelong stent risks
NCT ID NCT07229248
Summary
This study is testing a new approach for treating heart attacks in adults under 50. It compares a drug-coated balloon, which leaves nothing behind in the artery, to the standard drug-eluting stent, which is a permanent implant. The goal is to see if the balloon method works as well as the stent while potentially reducing long-term risks and the need for strong blood thinners.
