New heart attack treatment trial tests clot removal method
NCT ID NCT06654453
Summary
This study is testing whether physically removing blood clots during a heart procedure improves recovery for heart attack patients who have already received clot-busting medication. Researchers will compare two approaches in 3,500 patients: standard artery-opening procedure versus that same procedure plus direct clot removal. The main goal is to see if the clot removal method reduces serious heart complications within 30 days after treatment.
