New heart attack test could save patients from second surgery

NCT ID NCT07264881

First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests a new tool called UFR that uses ultrasound images to measure artery blockages during a heart attack. Currently, doctors often need patients to return 30 days later for a second invasive procedure to get accurate results. The study will enroll 200 heart attack patients to see if the UFR tool can reliably predict serious blockages right away, potentially eliminating the need for that second procedure. Researchers will also follow patients for a year to understand how the heart heals.
