Heart procedure aims to zap dangerous radiation
NCT ID NCT07201506
Summary
This study is testing if using a special ultrasound probe inside the heart can reduce radiation exposure for patients during a procedure to fix irregular heartbeats. 70 adults needing this treatment will be randomly assigned to either get the new ultrasound-guided method or the standard X-ray guided method. The main goal is to see if the ultrasound approach significantly cuts down on the X-ray time needed during the procedure.
