First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a real-time electrical monitoring guide (ECochG) during cochlear implant surgery helps preserve natural hearing better than standard surgery. About 102 adults with severe-to-profound hearing loss will take part. The goal is to see if the guide leads to better hearing and structure preservation after the implant.
