New surgical guide aims to save hearing during cochlear implants

Summary
This study tests whether using an ECochG-based guide during cochlear implant surgery helps preserve more natural hearing and inner ear structure compared to standard surgery. About 102 adults with severe-to-profound hearing loss will take part. The guide monitors inner ear signals in real time to help surgeons avoid damage.
