Time-Restricted eating may slow aging in overweight adults
NCT ID NCT05880095
First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at whether eating only during a set window each day (time-restricted eating) can improve signs of aging in adults who are overweight or have early liver disease. 176 people took part and were split into three groups: one ate a healthy Mediterranean diet whenever they wanted, one ate a lower-calorie Mediterranean diet, and one ate a Mediterranean diet only during a specific time window. The goal was to see if time-restricted eating is sustainable and if it helps with metabolism, sleep, thinking, and overall well-being over 6 months, with a 6-month follow-up.
