Scientists scan brains to see how headache therapy works

NCT ID NCT06841627

Summary

This small, completed pilot study aimed to understand how a hands-on therapy called Osteopathic Manual Therapy (OMT) might change the brain in people with chronic headaches like migraines. Researchers used brain scans (MRI) on 31 participants to look for physical and functional changes in the brain before and after OMT treatment. The goal was to gather evidence on how this therapy might reduce pain by affecting the brain itself, not to test it as a primary treatment.
