Radiation boost powers immune attack on cancer before surgery

NCT ID NCT07371234

Summary

This study is testing a new two-part treatment given before surgery for advanced head and neck cancer. Doctors combine a low dose of radiation with an immunotherapy drug (an anti-PD-1 inhibitor) to try to shrink tumors and improve long-term results. The goal is to see if this combination helps patients live longer and reduces the chance of the cancer coming back after surgery.
