First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested whether raising the head and back (head-elevated position) helps doctors get a better view of the voice box using a video-laryngoscope in patients with a simulated difficult airway. 64 adults scheduled for surgery under general anesthesia participated. The researchers measured how much of the vocal cords could be seen and how easy intubation was. The goal was to see if this simple position change could make intubation safer and easier.
