First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding a 48-week course of pegylated interferon to standard antiviral pills could help people with chronic hepatitis B lose a key virus marker (HBsAg). 119 adults with HBeAg-negative hepatitis B who had been on standard treatment for at least 2 years took part. The main goal was to see how many patients lost the HBsAg marker one year after finishing the extra treatment.
