First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a protein in the blood, called HBP, is linked to fluid buildup in the lungs of intensive care patients. Researchers will collect blood samples and measure lung fluid in 25 adults using a special monitoring system. The goal is to find a simpler way to detect and track lung edema, which could improve care for critically ill patients.
