First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding hyperbaric oxygen (breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber) to standard care (surgery, antibiotics, ICU) can lower the death rate in adults with severe, fast-spreading soft-tissue infections. About 1480 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care alone or standard care plus hyperbaric oxygen. The main goal is to see if more people survive at 30 days.
