Double stem cell transplant shows promise for tough blood cancers
NCT ID NCT07588360
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new way to do stem cell transplants for people with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or high-risk myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). It uses stem cells from a half-matched family donor plus umbilical cord blood, given a few days apart, to help the body accept the new cells and lower the chance of cancer coming back. The goal is to improve survival and reduce complications like graft-versus-host disease. About 180 people aged 14 to 60 will take part.
