Study tests if Midwife's touch prevents birth injuries

NCT ID NCT07492940

Summary

This study aims to find the best way for midwives to help prevent tears during a vaginal birth. It compares a 'hands-on' technique, where the midwife manually supports the mother, to a 'hands-off' technique, where the birth proceeds more naturally. Researchers will measure how these methods affect the mother's perineum and the baby's health immediately after birth.
