New implant aims to stop scar tissue from limiting hand movement after surgery

NCT ID NCT04482140

Summary

This study tested a thin, absorbable collagen sheet called GENTA-FOIL resorb®. It was placed during hand surgery to act as a temporary barrier, aiming to prevent scar tissue (adhesions) from forming between tendons and other tissues. The goal was to see if this helped patients regain better hand movement and function after surgery. The study enrolled 15 adults undergoing specific hand surgeries and tracked their recovery for 90 days.
