First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether gentle hand massage by nurses can reduce the intense itching that many kidney dialysis patients suffer from. About 54 adults on dialysis will be randomly assigned to receive either hand massage or just conversation during their sessions. Researchers will track changes in itch severity, sleep quality, and overall well-being over three months. The approach is safe, non-invasive, and could provide a simple way to improve daily life.
