Nurses test simple hand massage to soothe debilitating itch for kidney patients

NCT ID NCT07312916

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple hand massage given by nurses can help reduce severe, chronic itching in people receiving kidney dialysis. Fifty-four patients with this itching condition will be randomly assigned to receive either regular hand massage or just conversation with a nurse over three months. Researchers will measure changes in itch intensity, sleep quality, and overall well-being to see if this safe, non-drug approach provides relief.
