Summary
This study compares two hand-cleaning methods—chlorhexidine gluconate and alcohol hand rubbing—to see which better prevents infections in premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). About 100 babies born before 37 weeks will be enrolled. The goal is to reduce healthcare-associated infections, a major risk for these vulnerable infants.
