Soap and lessons slash school sick days

NCT ID NCT07467902

Summary

This study tested whether teaching children about hand and respiratory hygiene and providing soap in schools could reduce how often they get sick and miss school. Researchers worked with over 800 children aged 9-13 in Erbil, Iraq, comparing schools that received the hygiene program to those that did not. They tracked illnesses and school absences for an academic year to see if the simple, low-cost intervention made a difference.
