Botox shots tested to unlock stiff, cramping hands
NCT ID NCT03977493
Summary
This study is testing whether injections of a purified Botox (IncobotulinumtoxinA) can ease the symptoms of focal hand dystonia, a condition causing involuntary muscle contractions and cramps in the hand. 48 adults with hand dystonia will receive either the real injection or a placebo to compare their effects on symptoms like writer's cramp, hand function, and pain. The main goal is to see if the Botox treatment is better than a placebo at improving patients' ability to write and use their hands.
